Arrangements

Walnut Grove has been serving the Danvers community as a final resting place for residents for more than a century and a half. Today, it is one of the only nondenominational cemeteries in the area offering a choice of interment options, from the time-honored choices to the more contemporary customs.

Walnut Grove offers choices to meet your preference and budget including traditional burialcremation burial and columbaria.

Due to increased demand, a finite supply and our commitment to the Town of Danvers and its citizens, effective August 1, 2022, the Board of Trustees at Walnut Grove will only allow sales of burial lots, including traditional and cremation burial lots, to current Danvers residents or former Danvers residents with permission. Note, the ability to purchase columbarium niches is not affected by this requirement.

A current Danvers resident is defined as someone presently living in Danvers, MA for the last consecutive 12 months.

A former Danvers resident with permission must meet the following requirement: the deceased must be a former resident of Danvers for no less than five years (regardless of the number of years living outside of Danvers, MA).

A residency exception can be made if the deceased has immediate family interred at Walnut Grove Cemetery, including a mother, father, brother or sister. A request must be accompanied by a letter, signed by the next of kin and notarized, requesting burial at Walnut Grove Cemetery with the years of residency and the former Danvers, MA address of the deceased provided. The Board of Trustees has the right to make the final decision on former residency requests.
